From two files to a clear change report.
1. Prepare matching inputs
Use the previous and current lists from the same supplier. Export each sheet as UTF-8 CSV. Keep SKUs as text to preserve leading zeroes. Each SKU must appear once per file; separate variants or pack sizes need distinct keys.
2. Check the number format
Prices must be non-negative plain numbers with up to four decimal places. Use 1234.50 or select comma decimals for 1234,50. Remove thousands separators and currency symbols. For comma-separated files, quote fields containing decimal commas, or export with semicolons.
3. Map columns and confirm the basis
Choose each file’s SKU and price column. Column names and row order may differ. Trimming spaces is on by default; case folding is optional. Confirm the currency and unit / pack size are the same. Delta does not infer product equivalence.
4. Review and export
Sort order puts increases first, followed by decreases, added, removed and unchanged SKUs. Filter the result and use pagination to review every row. CSV export always includes the complete report, regardless of the current filter.
What the math means
Difference = new price − old price. Change % = difference ÷ old price × 100. A zero old price has no defined percentage change. “Added” and “removed” mean absent from one supplied file, not confirmed launch or discontinuation.
Limits and safety
50,000 data rows and 10 MB per file. UTF-8 CSV / TSV only, no XLSX, PDFs or password-protected files. Blank and duplicate SKUs, malformed CSV, and invalid prices stop the comparison. A zero-change result is valid. Exported text that resembles spreadsheet formulas is prefixed with an apostrophe for safety; this may be visible when re-imported. Reports are for human review and are not ERP import templates.
Offline mappings
After loading both files and selecting the columns, enter a supplier name and save the mapping. On the next update, load both files, enter the same name and load the mapping. Headers must match. Browser storage is best-effort, especially for local HTML files; test it in your browser and retain your column selections elsewhere if necessary.
